RIPPED CERAMIC STOOL BY WILLEM VAN HOOFF
Ripping as a simple act, is the base of the design process of all the ripped series. Clay is the easiest material to rip. With slaps of clay the artist started to create higher and stronger constructions. He created stools, tables and vases.
Willem Van Hooff (b. 1992, Netherlands), Eindhoven based Designer, graduated in 2018 from the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Considering himself a craftsman, Van Hoff achieves a raw style by availing of primitive techniques. Seeking new potentials in storytelling or materiality, the designer/artist often works with traditional machinery, methods, and existing products, primarily in stoneware and wood, thus bringing new, exciting life into traditional materials.
