MIRRORMIRROR BY KIM RICHARDT

DKK 22,000.00

This dynamic interplay between balance and imbalance - what Richardt terms "balanced imbalance" or being "perfectly out of balance" - subtly defines all of his work. His intuitive, playful approach is deeply rooted in extensive material knowledge acquired during his early years as an Alfa Romeo bodyworker in 1983.

Richardt's minimalist practice brings him closer to his core, fostering deeper self-understanding and creating room for contemplation. Through minimalism, he finds clarity, allowing thoughtful reflection and connection with both material and self. His pieces often possess anthropomorphic qualities, encouraging viewers to become acutely aware of their physical presence and relationship to the object.

Kim Richardt, born in 1963 in Denmark, works primarily with aluminum and steel, approaching his materials with an intuitive yet deliberate sensibility. His artistic process involves constant exploration: moving against, moving with, and merging elements until a harmonious tension emerges. Richardt's method is characterized by meticulous reduction, stripping away excess until only the essential remains, occasionally adding minimal elements back in to achieve a precise balance.

MATERIALS: STAINLESS STEEL

DIMENSIONS: 150 X 45 X 35 cm.
