The CASCARA cups are part of the exhibition CUPS, curated by Tableau and Liv Vaisberg, presented with Sovino Brands in occasion of 3 Days of Design and the 50th anniversary of the opening of Sommersko Cafe.
CASCARA is a series of oversized cups, designed to be ‘’hugged’’ with both hands. This choice of a raw, tactile texture reflects my attention to transforming what remains (specifically from the act of coffee brewing) into a collectible artifact that celebrates both the process and the place where it happens, as an object that tells a story you can read.
MATERIALS: red grogged stoneware, ash glaze made of coffee waste, collected clay and wood ash
