The CASCARA cups are part of the exhibition CUPS, curated by Tableau and Liv Vaisberg, presented with Sovino Brands in occasion of 3 Days of Design and the 50th anniversary of the opening of Sommersko Cafe.
The espresso cups from the BUMPS 2.0 collection are created using a proprietary modelling technique based on the manual deformation of a flexible surface with metal spheres. Each cup is unique — subtle differences in form and the arrangement of relief patterns are a direct record of the physical making process. The collection results from hacking traditional modelling techniques and exploring experimental approaches to working with porcelain.
