IITTALA X HYDRO
What Alvar Aalto created was never just a vase, it was an idea that didn’t belong to any single era and still doesn’t. Radical in its time, it remains modern today: a form that continues to invite new interpretations. This pavilion is one of them.
the Aalto 90 Pavilion by Iittala and Hydro, designed in collaboration with TABLEAU, translates the organic silhouette of the Aalto Vase into architecture. Something you can step inside, move through, and feel change around you as the light shifts.
The pavilion’s soundscape is created from recordings made at the Iittala glass factory, among the heat, the glassblowers, and the objects being made. It is the sound of the material itself: quiet, physical, and present.
opening hours: Open 24/7 from Wednesday, June 10th–12th.
